Google nos vuelve (o no) a sorprender con un servicio que parece ser muy similar a Twitter en cuanto a filosofía pero que yo creo se queda a medio camino entre Twitter y el poco usado Google Wave, este nuevo servicio se va a alojar en nuestra bandeja de Gmail para que podamos acceder a él de una forma rápida cuando visitemos el correo y a través de buzz.google.com (sólo para Android 2.0) de forma directa, el servicio nos permite compartir de manera rapida y comoda distinta información como son fotos, videos, texto, artículos, urls, etc.
El principio básico es muy parecido a Twitter, veremos por qué, de entrada todos nuestros contactos de Gmail son nuestros followers y nosotros los suyos, esto es totalmente configurable, a partir de ahí todos conocemos como funciona el servicio de microblogging más conocido. Ahora si, Google Buzz llega un poco más lejos e integra en el mismo Buzz todo tipo de contenido, incluyendo nuestra ubicación en la versión móvil. Pero todo no acaba ahí, y es que Google mediante su Market ha liberado la versión 4.0 de Google Maps con la integración de Buzz como una nueva capa, de esta manera podremos ver donde se están publicando los Buzzs a nuestro alrededor. Además por si nadie lo ha tenido en cuenta, nuestros contactos nos podrán avisar de accidentes u otros sucesos en tiempo real al mas puro estilo Waze.
También decir que tiene total compatibilidad con Twitter, Picasa, Flicker & Reader para compartir absolutamente todo lo que quieras: por ejemplo, cambio de estado en el Gtalk, subo una foto a Picasa o comparto algo en el Reader y automáticamente se publicará.
¿Qué pretende Google con Buzz?
Pues ofrecer un servicio de red social, para compartir cosas con la gente, aprovechando todos los servicios. Eso si, todo reunido en uno (Google) y gratis. También planta cara a Facebook, proponiéndonos un Muro gigante y global al mismo tiempo que actualizamos cual Twitteros.
¿Cómo lo consigo?
En principio se actualizará automáticamente en el Gmail, y podéis descargar la última actualización del Google Maps para Android que lo lleva incorporado.
Si os dice, “Error, no está firmado correctamente” se debe a vuestra ROM. Para solucionarlo, hay que desinstalar el antiguo Maps haciendo esto (gracias @bgtanet)
Recordad que la SD NO ha de estar montadaadb mount -o remount,rw /system
adb shell find /system /data -name \*google\*maps.apk\* -o -name Maps.apk -delete
adb uninstall com.google.android.apps.maps
E instalar nuevamente el Google Maps.
Podéis descargar la apk Maps.4.0 si queréis.
Nota 1: Por lo visto a muchos usuarios de Hero con 1.5 no les funciona.
Nota 2: La Aplicación Web (buzz.google.com) y sólo la web está disponible para Android 2.0 (El Maps funciona de 1.6 para arriba)

Una de las cosas que pone de los nervios es recibir constantemente mails indicándote que se han acutalizado las cadenas de mensajes. Para que no moleste más, nada más fácil que
- Crear un filtro que filtre (valga la redundancia) los mensajes que contengan la palabra label:buzz.
- Que Marque como Leídos estos mensajes y les aplique la etiqueta Buzzs o lo que quieras
¿A qué estamos esperando? Todos a Buzzear.
La capa.del.buzz ha desaparecido del maps con la última actualización
si, habrá forma de recuperarla? tengo entendido que hay una versión crackeada de google maps perono se donde esta
