En este artículo nos vamos a salir un poco de la línea habitual, y a abarcar un gran espectro de productos. Vamos a centrarnos en los tablets únicamente, pero debatiremos sobre muchos de ellos, y no solo de tablets Android, sino que daremos unas pinceladas de los otros OS.
Vamos a dividir esta guía en 3 apartados. Primero hablaremos sobre algunas características clave de cada tablet. Posteriormente tocaremos los diferentes sistemas operativos que corren actualmente. Y por último hablaremos sobre algunos de los modelos más destacados. Vamos a intentar recopilar en unos pocos modelos todas las características que queremos destacar. Y sin más dilación, vamos a adentrarnos en el mundo tablet. Tanto si ya eres un afortunado poseedor, como si no, lo que viene a continuación puede interesarte.
Características relevantes
¡Versión Wi-Fi o 3G?
Esta es una pregunta muy frecuente, pero solo en estos dispositivos. Resulta que estamos ante un gadget al que nadie sabe adecuarle una función especifica. El teléfono al fin y al cabo sirve para comunicarse. ¿Pero para qué sirve un tablet? Pues la respuesta es la misma para la pregunta del título. Cada uno le dará un uso distinto. Para mi un tablet es básicamente un dispositivo multimedia. Un sistema operativo tan potente como el de un teléfono (el mismo en muchos casos), pero que está algo más limitado en cuanto a dimensiones portables. Por ello su aplicación es distinta.
Según mi punto de vista, un tablet con función 3G lo necesita alguien que intenta sustituir su teléfono móvil por este nuevo gadget. Yo creo que al ser un dispositivo multimedia puro, la conexión 3G no nos aporta gran funcionalidad. ¿Vas a usar el tablet por la calle? En la mayoría de casos no. Quizá en transporte público, es cierto. Pero cada vez hay cobertura Wi-Fi en más puntos, por lo que la cobertura 3G no la veo tan útil para un tablet. Debéis pensar y decidir qué uso le daréis a vuestro tablet, y decidir en función de ello. Pensad en el coste de la versión 3G frente a una versión Wi-Fi. Y además de eso, plantead también la opción de adquirir una tarifa de datos superior para vuestro móvil y así poder usar el tethering sin coste añadido. Esto mata 2 pájaros de un tiro, y posiblemente salga más barato.
Un formato de pantalla adecuado es importante
Algo que quizá no se observe con detenimiento si nadie os lo advierte. Para eso estamos nosotros. Hay multitud de tablets en el mercado, pero no todos son iguales. Muchos de ellos cuentan con un formato de pantalla 16:9, el típico panorámico. Otros con el formato estándar 4:3. Para vídeo es preferible el formato panorámico, pero un tablet no es solo vídeo. Es a la vez nuestro punto de interacción con el OS, así que resulta que el formato 4:3 parece ser algo más cómodo para trabajar con las manos sobre la pantalla. Debéis valorar esta característica, aunque tampoco cegaros por ella.
Elección correcta de el sistema operativo
Como siempre, un punto más que fundamental en cualquier gadget. Incluso más importante que el exterior. No podéis comparar tablets algo obsoletas que usan versiones de Android de teléfono con una tablet moderna con iOS o una versión de Android diseñada para tablets como es Honeycomb o Ice Cream Sandwich.
Dentro de versiones para tablets, podríamos entrar a debatir lo de siempre. ¿Qué OS es el mejor? Pues no os voy a engañar… depende de lo que queráis hacer vosotros. No hay una solución definitiva. Perfección vs versatilidad vs potencia vs diseño vs precio vs un largo etc. Valorad según vuestro uso y recomendaciones de primera mano, no según lo que se respire en el aire.
Sistemas operativos para tablets
Vamos ahora al tema duro y eterno. No me voy a meter en complicadas discusiones, hay otros días y artículos más adecuados para ello. Solo destacar puntos fuertes para un tablet.
iOS, perfección llevada al extremo
Un sistema operativo excelente, sin duda. Acabado perfecto, funcionamiento envidiable, diseño impresionante. Una fluidez estupenda y no escucharéis muchas quejas. iOS da muchas cosas, y muy buenas. Nadie se quejará de él si está conforme. El problema y las quejas solo vendrán de alguien que no tenga suficiente con él, alguien que necesite más. Algo que iOS no podrá dar.
Con iOS hay que adaptarse al funcionamiento de Apple, nunca iOS se adaptará a nosotros. Hay que pasar por su iTunes, aceptar sus conversiones, y sus limitaciones en cuanto a personalización, adaptación al usuario y facilidad de trabajo. Si estamos de acuerdo con ello, iOS es perfecto.
Mi opinión es que iOS se empieza a quedar anticuado en cuanto a funciones. Necesita un lavado de cara pronto.
Android, un mundo de posibilidades
Otro sistema operativo excelente. Su punto fuerte es la versatilidad. Tendremos opciones como en ningún otro. Movilidad y personalización prácticamente ilimitadas. No tenemos que pasar por ninguna adaptación. Quizá una cuenta Google es básica, pero nunca será obligatoria. El sistema operativo se adapta a nosotros. En cuanto a rendimiento, no depende solo de él. Al moverse sobre muchos hardware distintos, su funcionamiento difiere en función del caso. En los mejores casos no tendremos queja alguna, pero otras veces notaremos un sistema lento y sin una fluidez perfecta.
Su punto débil es la fragmentación de la plataforma, pudiendo encontrar algunos tablets con versiones no optimizadas para ellos. Versiones para teléfono, que por descontado no aprovechan las posibilidades del tablet. Por otro lado, también tiene versiones optimizadas que no envidian nada a la competencia.
Blackberry tablet OS
No he tenido la suerte de probarlo, pero se que destaca por su buena relación con el hardware, al igual que iOS. Al estar presente en un solo dispositivo, la relación es excelente, y la experiencia de usuario muy buena.
Aun así, el sistema operativo es bastante menos capaz que los 2 anteriores, y carece de algunas funciones básicas importantes. Además, la propia marca ha anunciado que pronto su dispositivo podrá usar aplicaciones Android. Es bastante evidente que no tiene suficiente presencia en el mercado de desarrolladores como para plantar cara a los demás, y sabemos que las aplicaciones son un punto fundamental en estos sistemas.
Windows 7, ¿vale para todo?
Quizá un infiltrado de Microsoft en este campo, desde el día que dijo que estaba preparado para su uso en dispositivos táctiles. En efecto lo está, pero con una respuesta para nada eficiente ni agradable, si lo comparamos con los sistemas operativos optimizados. Por otro lado, Windows siempre vence soportando aplicaciones que no soporta nadie más. En este caso, por ejemplo, es nuestra única opción si queremos usar Photoshop en nuestro gadget táctil.
Aún así, Microsoft se ha dado cuenta del error, y parece que ha tomado el buen camino con su próximo Windows 8. Queda por ver como termina esta historia.
Los dispositivos
Y llegamos al punto clave. Hasta aquí lo tengo claro, ¿pero con cuál me quedo?
Apple iPad 2
El más conocido, popular y envidiado tablet. Su descripción es acorde a su sistema operativo, que he detallado anteriormente. Un diseño espectacular, un hardware espectacular, y todo espectacular, incluido el precio.
Como os he dicho antes, el mejor si estamos dispuestos a adaptarnos, y seguir pagando. Un catálogo de accesorios sin igual, un reciente videoclub propio, servicios en la nube, y un repertorio de apps inacabable.
Especificaciones: Pantalla de 9.7″, 1024×768 y formato 4:3. Versiones de 16, 32, 64GB y 3G opcional. 241x186x9 mm, 601g, 9h de batería. iOS 4.3.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1
Seguramente la marca líder actual en teléfonos Android, y que ha lanzado más versiones de tablets. No ha tenido mucha suerte con las disputas con Apple, lo que ha perjudicado su producto. Aun así, la tablet es excelente, aunque necesitaría rebajar un poco los precios si quiere destacar sobre la competencia.
Especificaciones: Pantalla de 10.1″, 1280×800 y formato 16:10. Versiones de 16, 32GB y 3G opcional. 257x175x9 mm, 565g, 5,5h de batería. Android 3.1. Review EAL.
Motorola Xoom
Fue un inicio de ciclo para Android, ya que estrenó su versión optimizada para tablets. Aun así, no resultó ser tan revolucionaria como se esperaba, y quedó un poco al margen viendo pasar nuevos diseños muy competentes. Algo más gruesa que el resto, pero excelente hardware.
Especificaciones: Pantalla de 10.1″, 1280×800 y formato 16:10. Versiones de 32GB y 3G opcional. 249x168x13 mm, 730g, 8h de batería. Android 3.1. Review EAL.
Blackberry Playbook
Una bonita tablet, con carencias en software. Es un formato más pequeño que los anteriores pero igualmente válido. El problema es que el coste es el mismo. No ha sido un gran triunfo en Blackberry, y no aporta mucho al mercado.
Especificaciones: Pantalla de 7″, 1024×600. Versiones de 16, 32, 64GB. 194x130x10 mm, 425g, 8h de batería. Blackberry Tablet OS.
HTC Flyer
La propuesta de HTC que tampoco parece haber impactado con fuerza en esta generación. Básicamente por el uso de un sistema no optimizado para tablets como es Gingerbread. Con las modificaciones de HTC Sense han hecho lo que han podido, pero sigue sin poder competir con versiones superiores.
Especificaciones: Pantalla de 7″, 1024×600. Version de 32GB. 95x122x13 mm, 420g, 8h de batería. Android 2.3.
ASUS Eee Pad Transformer
Como propietario orgulloso de este dispositivo, puedo decir que es de lo mejorcito que hay hasta la fecha. Con un buen sistema operativo y especificaciones muy competentes. Además presume de características que nadie ha igualado. Con buenas conexiones multimedia y el dock de teclado se puede convertir en el mejor netbook que existe en un instante. Con ello, alcanza la insuperable cifra de 16h de batería, incluyendo entradas USB. Todo esto a uno de los mejores precios. Quiero dejaros su vídeo promocional, que sin duda reforzará vuestra idea de él.
Solo tiene un problema, y es que se acerca su sucesor, el Transformer Prime, pisando con 4 núcleos en esta nueva generación que esta al caer. Aun así, es el único tablet Android con Ice Cream Sandwich confirmado.
Especificaciones: Pantalla de 10.1″, 1280×800. Versiones de 16 y 32GB. 271x117x13 mm, 680g, 16h de batería (con dock, 8h sin él). Android 3.2 (4.0 confirmado). Review EAL.
Acer Iconia Tab A500
Un tablet del que no se mucho, pero con unas especificaciones excelentes. Presumiendo de 10h de batería a buen precio, y un buen acabado exterior.
Especificaciones: Pantalla de 10.1″, 1280×800. Versiones de 16 y 32GB. 260x177x13 mm, 730g, 10h de batería. Android 3.2.
Sony Tablet S
Con un diseño bastante discutible, parece ser que el funcionamiento de este tablet es impecable. Los acabados y sus especificaciones también relucen. Dispone de una entrada USB y SD incorporadas. Algo muy destacable es que es el único con certificado PlayStation, así que los jugones harán delicias con este tablet.
Especificaciones: Pantalla de 9.4″, 1280×800. Versiones de 16, 32GB y 3G opcional. 241x101x17 mm, 598g, 8h de batería. Android 3.2. Review EAL.
Y hasta aquí hemos llegado. Espero que tengáis las cosas un poco más claras, o al menos que sepáis por donde empezar a pensar. Con este pequeño gran repaso hemos visto como esta el mundo tablet para estas navidades. Hay que decir que esto no durará mucho tiempo, ya que en marzo o abril empezará a llegar toda la nueva generación, cargadita de quad-core y nuevas funciones. Este es el mundo de la tecnologia, y nosotros nos despertamos cada día para informar de sus cambios, con lo que respecta a Android.

Ahora esta en HOneycomb 3.2, y parece ser que estamos esperando ICS para enero o principios de febrero (veremos a ver que pasa).
A mi me encanta mi tablet, la configuro como quiero, y aunque aun no la he rooteado, se que puedo hacerlo, pero prefiero no hacerlo hasta ver por dónde salta ICS.
Comparto tus palabras Haun. Uso a diario y por montón esta maquina desde hace aproximadamente unos 6 meses y me ha gustado tanto que hasta la he vendido entre mis amigos. Es una belleza y funciona que enamora. Antes de comprarla vi muchos vídeos comparativas con otras tablets y asi fue que me decidi por ella aunque en aquellos días la Transformer estaba mucho mas barata y viene con teclado. Algo que he compartido con otros es la superioridad del teclado táctil sobre el físico, la respuesta al tocar la pantalla me permite escribir mas cómodo y rápido, teniendo la tablet en las piernas o en una mesa baja. Se actualiza con frecuencia y las aplicaciones y juegos funcionan de maravilla. La recomiendo altamente
Tambien tengo la Iconia A500, es excelente maquina, lo unico que a veces molesta es su peso pero esto lo compensa su gran desempeño. He podido ejecutar juegos 3D los cuales otras tables ni sueñan instalar XD.

Yo estoy contentisimo com mi Motorola XOOM, actualizada a Honeycomb 3.2, y me da justo lo que quiero, poder ver contenidos multimedia con una fluidez brutal, ahora ya tengo olvidado mi viejo portatil y su Leeeento windows a la hora de iniciarse.
La actualización a Ics me da igual por ahora, no creo que cambie mucho de honeycomb.

Yo tengo la Asus TRansformer y la recomiendo sin lugar a dudas. Ahora mismo la llevo con la Rom Revolver overclockeada a 1,6 Ghz y la verdad que va de fábula….ademas han anunciado en su twitter q la actaulización a ICS llegará a principios de enero, algo que demuestra la política de actualizaciones que esta llevando a cabo Asus que me parece la marca puntera en este aspecto.

Es un gran momento para comprar la Asus transformer, hace dos semanas la compré para mi novia a un precio inigualable: realmente fue una promoción-error de Carrefour que aplicó el precio de 299 € (en teoría solo para la tablet) al combo tablet-dock. Total, por 299€ la AT con su dock, cuando hoy día vuelve a estar por 499 € en la mayoría de los sitios. Ahora me arrepiento de no haber comprado otra para mi. La probé durante una semana, y va realmente bien, con una versatilidad increible ya que como tablet es comoda para transportar, y si le añades el dock tienes un netbook, mas comodo para pequeños trabajos y con el extra del doble de bateria.
En cualquier caso, a punto de llegar la Prime (ya se está alargando mucho), seguro que vuelven las promociones en los proximos días.

Sabemos algo de Xoom 2?
Con la fragmentación de versiones y hardware y el mal soporte de los fabricantes hacia el usuario, no le recomiendo tablet android a nadie, hasta que no aparezca una tablet propia de google como los nexus que garantice un mínimo de soporte fiable.

Sería un error, a ese precio es muy difícil verla nueva. Lo que si he visto han sido varias promociones del 20%, pero vinculadas a nuevas compras que habrá a quien le vaya bien y a quien no.
Elegid Transformer o Transformer PRIME. No os vais a equivocar.
Es el único dispositivo android que he tenido (y ya van unos cuantos) en el que noto que el fabricante se preocupa por las actualizaciones.
En un mes ya he recibido dos y ICE al caer. Un 10 para Asus. Ya tienen un cliente fiel.
Impresionante dispositivo, en potencia, funcionalidad y actualizaciones. A ver si hubiera suerte y se repitiera la oferta de 299€ de hace unas semanas.

A día de hoy, me quedo de largo con el iPad 2: mejor formato (el 4:3 se agradece muchisimo), más batería, muchísimas más aplicaciones pensadas y optimizadas para tablet, accesorios de todas las formas y colores… y es más fácil de utilizar por niños. Y la seguridad de que te lo van a actualizar y no tener que estar rezando para que al fabricante le de la gana.
El año que viene, con bichos como el Asus Prime e ICS pulido… pues habrá que repensarlo. Y sobre todo, a la espera de que Google saque su propia tablet.
Eso si, todas deberían bajar de precio, especialmente las que quieran competir con el iPad. El ejemplo lo tienen con el Kindle Fire y la liquidación del TouchPad, la gente quiere tablets de calidad pero mucho más baratas.
Tengo una tablet samsung p-1000, va de fabula. Usó el 3g y el wifi. para mi tiene las medidas justas me cabe en el bolsillo de la cazadora. Las tablets de mayor tamanyo hay que llevarlas en la mano o en una cartera, lo que es muy incomodo. Yo uso la taller para leer el periódico y vuestro blog, jugar a juegos, ver peliculas(en la cama es de conya) y leer libros principalmente. También para estudiar ingles. Me permite buscar en google. Es importante el 3G, porque si tengo wifi quiere decir que estoy en casa y entonces puedo ya asr el ordenador. Cuándo uso mas la taller es,cuando estoy fuera de casa

BQ es una compañia de bajo coste que tiene que mentir en la publicidad de las cajas donde embalam sus productos para poder verder algo. Im-presentables.
Aún recuerdo de mal agrado mi primer tablet: Un DaVinci que ponía actualizable a 3.0.Lo he vendido pero a fechas de hoy no lo han actualizado.Podría contaros muchos defectos en estos tablets de BQ pero prefiero que los decubrais vosotros mismo.

Tengo una Asus Transformer y he de decir que es una de las mejores compras que he hecho. Eso si, lo bueno es tener el dock. No es sólo la versatilidad de usarla como netbook, y poder escribir agusto (por ejemplo este post lo estoy escribiendo con el dock), es las posibilidades de expansion que te da (dos puertos USB de tamaño normal y una ranura de tarjetas SD hacen que nunca te falte capacidad de almacenamiento. Para que vas a comprar un modelo con mas memoria interna si puedes añadirle tu via la micro SD, la SD, y los dos USBs?), y la autonomia todavia inigualada que te da. Si algo le hecho en cara a la Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, es que no tenga ni micro SD, pero claro, de alguna manera tienen que justificar el precio del modelo de 64 GB.
Solo tiene dos puntos flacos: usa un conector propietario para cargar y conectar al PC, y de momento no produtos compatibles, y reproducir MKVs a 720p es problematico. Respecto al conector, la Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 peca de lo mismo, pero al menos puedes encontrar accesorios compatibles. Tengo la esperanza que con la Prime, los fabricantes se animen y saquen por fin cables y cargadores para el coche. No seria tan grave si no fuera por lo corto del cable que viene con la tablet, y no puedes utilizar un alargador USB, a menos que sea USB 3.0, ya que necesita los contactos extra del 3.0 para comunicarle al cargador que debe entregar 15v en vez de 5v. El cable de la Prime va a ser el doble de largo, y aliviara mucho el problema. Respecto al tema de los MKV, creo que el problema es cosa de Amdroid, o del Tegra2.
Respecto al uso que se le da, para mi, es principalmente para navegar, para leer y contestar correos (imprescindible el dock para escribir correos largos), y para consultar manuales en PDF a pantalla completa.
No consigo saber que necesito, seguramente un poquito de todos. Las tablets sin teclado no, buenas para multimedia y pequeños textos, la Transformer mola pero puede realmente sustituir a un netbook con windows, ademas esta el Chromebook en el que no hay que preocuparse de las actualizaciones (pero lo demas????). O tal vez un ultrabook con Win 7 y la conocida versatilidad de Windows (terminal server, …)
Y esto me pasa tras tener portatiles, origamis, Poketsurfer…
En conclusión, que felices son los fanboys de Apple al no tener que escoger ;-)
Es que si a esos les das a escoger, les explota el microcerebro que tienen… :p
Por cierto, siendo el poseedor de una Desire con CM 7.1 y una Transformer, he de decir que si fuera rico tb me compraria una de 7″. Cada tamaño tiene sus utilidades. Tengo un conocido en USA que podria mandarme una Kindle Fire, pero me da miedo la aduana. Alguien tiene experiencia al respecto?
Yo voy a optar por una Dell Streak 7 que esta de oferta en $250.00. Aunque solo la pueda llevar a Android 3.2 me parece que el precio por las características esta excelente. A medio año si quiero algo mejor la vendo y veo que hay en el mercado. Hablamos sobre el tema a mitad del año 2012… ;)
A mi me sigue atrayendo más el Asus Eee Pad Slider, porque ya viene teclado y pantalla en 1, más cómodo que la transformer. Y iguales características. Su precio el mismo que el transformer con teclado.
A la hora de nombrar una, se debería hablar de la otra, pues realmente son el mismo tablet :D

Tiene táctil. Solo se diferencia de la otra en que el teclado no es desmontable así que lo has de llevar a cuestas siempre como un caracol su concha.
Viendo los precios de tablets Android similares en caracteristicas al iPad mi recomendacion es que si vas a por ese rango de tablet pillate el iPad sin dudarlo.
Si ya vas a por uno de gama baja pues casi que me irria a por algun chino de DX y similares, que te va a dar lo mismo que lo que encuentres por aqui y a menor precio.

Estimados, después de batallar mucho con mi terminal LG de molestare por las actualizaciones decidí realizar el cambio hacia IOS, adquirí in iPad 2 y un iPhone además e un iPod para mi hijo. Hay muchísimas cosas que me gustan de android pero me di cuento de que invierto mas tiempo personalizando y tratando de optimizarlo que disfrutandolo. Seguiré visitando el blog porque simplemente es buenísimo y toca muchos temas de tecnología. (por favor comentarios con insultos y falta de madures favor de abstenerse). Saludos

yo soy usuario desde hace tiempo de android pero al comprar un tablet me fui por un ipad y mas que todo por la apps infantiles educacionales, ademas de que con calma se la puedo soltar a mi hija sin miedo ya que es muy sencillo de manejar el sistema e inmediatamente supo como entrar y salir de las apps y de escogerlas y eso que tiene solo 4 años!!
ahora la novedad es que ayer salio el jailbreak para IOS 5.0.1 y ahora si a darse vuelo con las apps :)
Todo un elogio para un sistema operativo: lo puede manejar hasta un niño de 4 años! Espero con ansiedad el iOS6, seguramente ya lo podrá manejar hasta un tonto lobotomizado. O eso ya es en el 5? :p Claro, ahora entiendo que nuestros queridos diputados se pillen uno a nuestra costa…

Yo tengo actualmente una Toshiba portpolio 100 (muy regulera) y estoy mirando para cambiar. Principalmente, porque con los auriculares no se escucha nada bien el audio en los videos cuando vas en tren / avión o hay algo de ruido.
La decisión final parecía que estaba tomada por la Galaxy, pero en una review comparación contra el IPAD 2 que vi ayer, no había color en la calidad de sonido, y eso hace que surjan dudas. El otro firme candidatos es el transformer eepad.
Alguna idea de lo que estoy hablando??? Alguien que amablemente pueda confirmar si esos modelos se escuchan bien?? (al menos, con auriculares en un lugar con algo de ruido). Lo de la portfolio es desesperante.
Alguien sabe cuando sale la transformer prime??

Falto ahi la Tablet Toshiba Thrive, no se porque no le dan tanta cobertura como al resto de sus pares, siendo que sus caracteristicas son excelentes, coneccion usb, mini usb, full hdmi, tarjeta sd, soporte para dock, teclado bluetooth, etc.

Mira, al menos a mi lo que menos me interesa en cuanto a tablets es su grosor. Cuando fui a comprarme una tablet iva fijo por la samsung galaxy tab, pero al lado estaba la toshiba thrive y me encanto la cantidad de conecciones disponibles que tiene. Eso si, es mas gruesa que otras tablets, pero como digo, me importa mas su diversidad de conecciones que su grosor (que a mi gusto no incomoda en lo absoluto)
Pero en fin, es cosa de gustos
Ya hace año y medio que tengo el iPad 1 y funciona de mil maravillas, muy contento con la inversion y con las actualizaciones del sistema operativo.

Francisco, la gran mayoria de las tablets de 10.1″ con Android 3.x son identicas en cuanto a rendimiento. Todas llevan un Tegra2, la misma ram, etc etc. Si no te gusta la thrive, pillate otra. Yo personalmente recomendo la Transformer si vas a comprar el teclado y la Iconia si no.

Es cierto, hay menos cantidad de aplicaciones adaptadas para tablets en el market, pero todas las aplicaciones que uso en mi smartphone corren sin problemas en la tablet.
Sobre lo de ICS, llegará, pero aun sin fecha concreta.

La Acer A100 es muy recomendable, en Argentina se consigue a un precio muy acomodado (casi la mitad de un iPad por ejemplo). Es muy estable, la experiencia del usuario es genial, la verdad que hasta el momento no tengo quejas.
Tengo la Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 y voy a intentar venderla en cuanto salga el iPad 3. Valiendo lo mismo que el iPad, me arrepiento de no haberlo comprado en su día.
Me da igual que supuestamente pueda hacer cosas que no puedo hacer en un iPad, si luego lo básico no puedo hacerlo bien.
No es nada fluída, todavía hay pocas aplicaciones adaptadas a tablets y salvo cuatro excepciones, las que hay son bastante cutres. Luego está el tema de las actualizaciones del SO…
En fin, que en cuestión de tablets, el iPad está muy muy por delante de todo lo demás, así que para gastarse una pasta tanto con unas como con otras, mejor optar por lo seguro.
Claro, optar por lo seguro= Comprarme un ordenador con Windows 7 u 8 y meterle Ubuntu, como lo tengo yo. Eso sí que es optar por lo seguro.

Tengo la Acer Iconia Tab A-500, en realidad la uso más de diversión que de trabajo, funciona bastante bien, pero como todo creo que hay algunas cosas que puede mejorarse, por ejemplo debería existir la aplicación de messenger con la cámara frontal, una aplicación para correo web outolook, poder copiar una pantalla y enviarla por correo, hacer más fácil en el navegador la selección de texto, que tenga un explorador de archivos nativo, creo que todo esto tiene que ver con Android, pero la parte de música, video, visualizar fotos, navegador, lectura de libros, y otras cosas funcionan excelente…

Yo no entiendo para que sitan iOS si se nota que no lo han usado, vamos Google Music es como iTunes o por lo menos eso quisiera ser, Market es igual o esa intenta hacer la diferencia en ello es que no hay centralización como la tiene iTunes que eso es diferente, en lo personal no mucho me agrada iTunes por 1 solo cosa a la hora de poner vídeos hay que renderizarlos allí para que estén en el dispositivo iOS que sea, en lo personal he visto que es mas fácil iOS que Android en uno solo un Tap y astas jugando en el otro mas mas cosas que configurar (eso me gusta en lo personal) hay que aceptarlo iTunes no solo vende Apps y musica también calidad en ello no hay competidor, la misma idea quiere Windows Phone 7 que ahora llego a 50,000 apps en su Marketplace la critica dice que lo a hecho muy bien ser fuerte en el 2012. El Android Market le falta y sigue faltando que sea mas pulido de eso no hay duda y todos lo sabemos, con lo que es una Tableta por lo que fue este año sabemos que HoneyComb no es bueno malísimo yo poseo un dispositivo con el y la verdad hay mas escarces de apps para tabletas que me recordó a BADA ;-)

Pues yo lo tengo claro, pagar el mismo precio por una Galaxy Tab 10.1 WIFI que por un IPAD 2 WIFI es demasiado exagerado. Teniendo en cuenta que vete tu a saber si no sacan en abril una Galaxy tab 3, y deja obsoleta a la 10.1, ni actualización ni hostias. Odio a Apple, pero me doy cuenta de que ellos llevan ventaja sobre android en este tema de la misma manera que la llevaban hace dos-tres años con los moviles, con los Iphone 2 y 3G. Se por seguridad que para las navidades que viene, con IC más maduro, y nuevas tablets, Android le habrá comido mucho terreno a Apple, pero necesitamos un año, y eso es mucho tiempo si se necesita YA una tablet de garantias.
Así que dicho esto, mañana iré a comprar el Ipad, y espero alla agosto o septiembre, venderlo a un buen precio para poder comprar una tablet android que de verdad merezca la pena, no voy a perder más tiempo con las Xoom, Galaxys o Lg’s, que espavilen que ya va siendo hora.

Y por cierto, en esto de las tablets android, mucho daño están haciendo los fabricantes de tablets chinas con caracteristicas muy pobres y muy rebajadas de precio. La gente empieza a pensar que las tablets de Android son así, duras, feas, sin brillo y con pocas actualizaciones. Barco, creo que no has sabido interpretar el comentario de Mr.Band el no esta diciendo que la gente cómo «individuo» sea tonta, lo que quiere decir es que cómo «masa» si lo son y somos.
El otro día por ejemplo fui a comprar una tarjeta gráfica, y por el precio que ofrecia, el tipo de la tienda me ofrecio dos gráficas, una de la marca «Nvidia», y otra de la marca «ATI». Le pregunte al tipo de la tienda, ¿cual es mejor?, y el me dijo pues las Nvidia son mejores porque son mejor marca, entonces le pregunte ¿podrías enseñarme las especificaciones técnicas de cada una?. Y la mejor «en este caso especifico» era la ATI. El dependiente actuó cómo la «masa» porque nVidia ha tenido normalmente mejor cantidad de gráficas buenas, pero hay excepciones dónde la «masa» deja de indagar y se guia por la fama, quedandose sólo con la marca/nombre sin mirar los casos especificos de cada compra, partido político, etc, etc…

Yo lo único que digo es que parte del error en tablets de Android no es la fragmentación del OS, sino el desconocimiento de muchas personas de esta nueva tecnología. Cada uno tiene lo que paga, y uno de los puntos fuertes de Android es que se puede tener algo »bueno» a un precio razonable. Pero eso en las tablets no se cumple y lo más barato son 400 euros, y para eso esta iOS por un poco más y seguridad de soporte 100%. Yo sigo pensando que las tablets de Android necesitan 1 año más, que probablemente la próxima tablet que compre sea Android ojalá 5.0 y muy currado el OS,pero de momento no tengo más opción que quedarme con mi iPad2. Y si te sirve, para que no me digas que me vaya a la applesfera, hace 2 años que uso Android en teléfono y sé que sus telefonos pueden competir con los iPhone en TODO, pero desgraciadamente en las tablets no y es algo que hay que aceptar
Tienes toda la razon pero yo haria una aclaracion: cuando dices que no hay tablets androidpor debajo de los 400 € supongo que t refieres a tablets con ls version 3.0 y que esten a la altura del iPad. Lo digo porque yo tengo un tablet android a la altura del primer iPad pero con android 2.3. Espero que llegue una actualizacion a la version 4.0. El modelo es el BQ Kepler y su precio es de 170€
Hombre Carlos por supuesto, me refiero a tablets que puedan competir directamente en el mercado con un Ipad 2. Yo he tenido modelos Wolder, Airis, todos con versiones 2.2-2.3 actualizables y que no son malas, ni caras, pero no pueden competir con iOS y no poder competir con tu máximo rival del mercado, significa que algo falla. Por otro lado por supuesto tenemos las tablets de entre 450 y 600 euros Android, que pueden competir en rendimiento con un iPad pero donde queda aquello de Android para todos? Para todos significa un gasto mínimo de 500 euros? Lo bonito del sistema es la libertad, pero si la libertad es en tablets »baratas», al fin y al cabo la política es la misma, para las cosas malas o tablets de coste reducido, apenas hay que gastar, pero si quieres algo muy bueno y que compita pagalá, si piensas en esto te das cuenta de que Android es una empresa igual que es Apple, y que por las cosas buenas, hay que sacar la billetera…Y de momento, como ya he dicho, para gastarme el dinero, me lo gasto en algo en que esté seguro, no vaya a ser que en dos meses saquen otro Galaxy Tab, otro Motorola Xoom, otro LG PAD, otra HTC Flyer…y en lo que yo me haya gastado 500 euros, no sea más que otro.

Como bien dice, una tablet según tus necesidades…. yo he tenido intenciones de adquirir una, pero con este articulo si que ayuda bastante, el problema de muchos es que el entorno de trabajo es en windows, yo he querido cambiar mi portatil por una tablet… mi telefono es android, que mejor seria una tablet android, pero lamentablemente muchos softwares que usamos no pueden ser instalados fuera de windows…. en algunos casos si se puede con iOS, seguiré como observador mientras me decido.

A veces los que tenemos información y nos gusta la tecnología no podemos permitirnos gastar X00 € en una tablet. Yo conseguí la Archos 7 Home Tablet gratis por una oferta de Yoigo y me vale para mi trabajo y mis ratos de ocio. Tengo otras prioridades donde gastarme el dinero, y no en algo que se va a quedar obsoleto en X meses.
Falta mi tablet, la Kindle Fire, excelente manejo por un bajo precio.

es la que sale en el periódico no? Ni de coña! Yo compre la 7 pulgadas hace unos 5 meses y no me pudo salir más rana. Fluidez nula, resistiva, no actualizable, y el software de Airis no actualiza ni da soporte. Sin duda este es el fiasco más grande que me he llevado con Android.
Si quieres gastar poco, las Energy Sistem están sacando unas tablets bien de precio, unos 160 euros, de muy buena calidad, se la he regalado a mi novia y está super contenta, con interfaz Hooneycomb como las tablets de gama alta, fluidez impresionante y aunque no tiene Market, puedes instalarle varios Markets Alternativos que funcionan perfectamente. Yo no te digo cual debes comprar, pero si te digo que no compres un AIRIS y menos de »regalo»con el periódico…sale bastante mal. PD: En 5 meses, he usado la tablet unos 10 dias, me pongo hasta nervioso..

man yo tengo la playbook y te puedo asegurar que la unica cosa que no me gusta es que no hay aplicaciones populares( msn,twt,skype,bbm,correo) peeo su sistema es bastante perfecto y su navegacion es excelente te puedes meter a cualquier sitio sin problemas no como el ipad, pero es excelente espero con la nueva actualizacion puedan incorporar estas aplicaciones y el uso de android. gracias

Quiero hacer una aportación a la decisión sobre comprar con o sin 3G.
Si realmente vas a hacer uso de este tipo de conexión y vas a depender de tu smartphone para hacerlo, ten en cuenta que «lamentablemente» la duración actual de las baterias de los smartphones es limitadisima. Si a este añades que vas a hacer thetering con el para que trabaje la tablet fuera de cobertura wifi, vas a tener una extrema dependencia de que tu smartphone tenga suficiente bateria para soportar este consumo añadido.
Mi consejo, si realmente vas a usar la tablet sin cobertura wifi mayoritariamente, opta por la opción 3G incorporada. La duración de la bateria de una tablet es mucho mayor que la de un smartphone

hola, me compre en milar en octubre una wonder media 8650 que es en realidad una estafa, por que tenia una marca que no he podido ver en ningun sitio y mirando en la opciones vi que tenia el chip wonder media 8650

No se que tiene la gente con apple que estan que no cagan. Mi experiencia, yo tengo un iphone y porque me lo han regalao, si es buen teleefono y de de muy buena calidad pero lo deitunes es una caca, yo no puedo sincronizar sin que se bloquee itunes. Al ipad lo mismo una maquina pero con itunes obligatorio. Otro fallo de ipad ningun tipo de conexion excepto la del cargador y ademas la inmensa mayoria de apps de pago en android serian gratuitas practicamente.como decian por ahi yo tengoun archos 101 , trae usb, minihdmi, microsd aunque le falte potencia solo lo cambiaria por el archos 101 g9 o por el asus.

Para mi es una cuestión de precio. Claro que la iPad o la Samsung Galaxy son buenas, pero también son mas caras.
Actualmente hay tablets muy baratas (Lenovo por ejemplo). Yo prefiero la Asus EeePad o la Acer Tab Iconia que tienen un precio intermedio (300 i pico euros).
